Item Description

Dozens of sharp, gemmy to translucent, beautiful pastel-green paravauxite crystals, to 1.2 cm, richly cover this impressive large plate from the famous Type Locality. Paravauxite is rare hydrated phosphate and was named in 1922. Many of the crystals are doubly-terminated. Ex. Academy of Natural Sciences Philadelphia Collection and obtained by Sam Gordon on one of his several trips to South America in the 1920s and 30s for the Academy. Valued at $900. The piece has several fine display views.
