A RARE, remarkably equant, pristine, 4.4 x 3.9 x 2.9 cm, doubly terminated topaz crystal with unusual complex pyramidal prism faces is dramatically set on the sculptural mounded matrix of bladed albite. The light champagne crystal is transparent to translucent with modified chisel terminations and the preferential striations on some of the prism faces add real pizzazz. The topaz is strikingly complemented by the translucent 6.5 cm sharply terminated quartz crystal with frosted satin lustre faces. It has only a couple of trivial termination wilbers. Stunningly hidden below the major topaz is a 3.6 cm water-clear gem with richer champagne color. Srikingly, the topaz crystals have yellow SW UV fluorescence! A spectacular, rare style 360-degree topaz and quartz combination from China. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this impressive specimen at $2000 13 years ago. A unique style of topaz. Although the locality occasionally still produces, the style is not similar today.
