Item Description

A rarely seen, and really unique and alluring Uvite Tourmaline gem from Taznania. It definitely an unusual color combination, even for Tourmaline. The stone has a dark greenish hue with interesting flashes of beautiful golden and orange highlights that can be seen from various angles, depending upon the light in which it is viewed. Halogen lighting seems to produce the most interesting color flashes, including some very deep warm hues (nearly blood red). Please note that the stone is dark so you will need strong lighting to see the color. The stone has a "Modified Octagonal Cushion" cut, and was faceted by Brett Kosnar on June 30th, 2011. The stone is VVS in clary, which is not common in Tourmalines this size. I haven't seen many Tourmalines this color combination from any locality, and it would definitely round out a Tourmaline gem suite to show off the various colors of these stones. A very cool, custom cut gem with an attractive appearance.
