A classic specimen of the famous Uvite Tourmalines from Brumado. These are some of the most iconic Tourmalines in the world. Very sharp, well-formed, highly lustrous, deep red colored trigonal crystals of Uvite measuring up to 8 mm sit atop white translucent Magnesite matrix. Good shape overall and a very showy thumbnail of this beloved material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10578). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
