These striking and beautiful, V-twinned, butterfly calcites are certainly amongst the most famous single calcite finds of the modern era in China, and came out around 2000. They were very expensive at that time and still are and disappeared quickly. A glassy, thick, hematite-tinted (only at the base), V-twin looks fabulous from either side. Very, very nearly pristine, a super-trivial bit of termination wear on one tip is barely noticeable and is certainly not a detraction. Specimens of this quality only come from recycled advanced collections. Contemporary classic material. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
