Item Description

Scattered bits of contrasting white barite are a sharp contrast and fine accessory to this aesthetic and sculptural, flattened, two-sided miniature cluster of lustrous, brick-red in echelon, parallel-growth, tabular, hexagonal vanadinite prisms from a major 2001 find at Mibladen. The striking crystals resemble multiple, tabular cogwheels. The large doubly terminated end crystal is 1.7 cm wide. Nearly a floater, with only one small attachment. Mibladen is easily the world's finest locality for the species. See the fine 2013 Mineralogical Record article in Vol. 44, No. 3. An exotic and aesthetic 360-degree example of this unusual varietal.
