Vanadinite (Bedogne Coll.)

An extremely rich and impressive large older vanadinite plate from the famous finds at Mibladen. The highly lustrous, translucent, brick-red tabular prisms have striking areas of yellow-orange fire. I particularly like the way the large crystals, to 1.7 cm, are concentrated on one end of this colorful and aesthetic specimen. The piece displays beautifully without aid. Ex Francesco Bedogne Collection # 255. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Valued at $1000-1250 for size, richness and quality. There's a lot out there, but this is a very fine example of this varietal.
