Item Description

Sharp, lustrous, blocky tri-colored, saffron-yellow to reddish-orange to red vanadinite crystals of different generations are richly and aesthetic set on the sculptural small cabinet matrix on this fine specimen from a famous Arizona locale - the Old Yuma Mine near Tucson. The crystals reach 7 mm on this classic and fine specimen. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 5795 and acquired from the Cisneros' at the San Diego Federation Show in 1969. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). The mounded cluster of larger crystals is noteworthy. Classic Old Yuma vanadinite.
