A splendent, gemmy, very sharp, burnt-orange with yellow highlights, vanadinite crystal thumbnail from the famous Old Yuma Mine, near Tucson, Arizona. This excellent, complete all-around and pristine thumbnail is from the Dick Jones Collection. Old Yuma vanadinites compare very favorably with the best United States vanadinites, including the famous Apache and Pure Potential (North Geronimo) Mines. Vanadinites of this quality were collected in the 1960s and 70s.
