Item Description

Mineral specimens from the Keban Mine of Turkey are rare and are very rarely available on the market. This fine old-time piece features sharp, lustrous, hexagonal, golden-brown Vanadinite crystals measuring up to 7 mm aesthetically and richly covering the underlying on matrix. Excellent condition and very little damage. This piece probably dates to the 1930s mining period. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#312). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
