Item Description

Aesthetic, mounded cluster of lustrous and CURVED, honey-brown Vanadinite crystals from the great mining district in Touissit, Morocco. These attractive crystals have often been mistaken for Pyromorphites due to their color and form, but in actuality they are an older, more classic style of Vanadinite than the red material we are now accustomed to seeing. It was logical to think 'pyromorphite' when these appeared on the market in the late 1970s, until they were finally X-rayed and microprobed. With crystals up to 2.1 cm, this is a quality example of these venerable specimens. An old classic, rarely seen in this quality.
