Item Description

An interesting reference specimen from the famous Musonoi Mine which according to the label features in order: Siegenite (not reported from this locality), Uraninite (questionable from this locality), Vandenbrandeite (confirmed), Cuprosklodowskite (confirmed), along with a mention of Vandendriesscheite / Curite (neither of which is reported from this mine. I'm not certain if the piece was analyzed to confirm the identity of the various species, and it's difficult to ascertain their identity visually, since it's mostly massive material on this specimen. It's a cool piece for anybody who collect U-minerals or species from the Musonoi Mine to add to their collection. From the worldwide collection of famed Italian mineral collector, field collector and author, Francesco Bedogné of Sondrio, Italy (Collection #208). Bedogné wrote dozens of articles and several books about the mineralogy of Italian Alpine localities such as Val Bregaglia, Val Masino, Val Codera, Val Spluga, Valtellina and the famous Val Malenco. He was also the founder of the Valtellinese Mineralogical Institute.
