Item Description

A lovely miniature sized piece of this beautiful material specimen featuring a 5 mm rich chrome green Variscite sphere on Chalcedony from the well-known occurrence at Itumbiara, Goiás, Brazil. Although Variscite is well-known from places like Utah and Arkansas (they are often featured in various collections), the Brazilian specimens deserve more attention for the fact that they have better color and feature actual crystallization! The species is named for the German district of Variscia, which was the medieval name for modern-day Vogtland. Classic material and beautiful color to boot.
