Item Description

A classic chrome green Variscite specimen from the well-known occurrence at Goias, Brazil. While Variscites from places like Utah and Arkansas might be more well-known to many collectors, the Brazilian specimens deserve more attention for the fact that they have better color and feature excellent crystallization! The species is named for the German district of Variscia, which was the medieval name for modern-day Vogtland. This specimen hosts a beautiful spherical group of Variscite measuring 9 mm across sitting beautifully on Chalcedony matrix. No damage and TOP color for the species. From the collection of R. D. Mushlitz.
