Item Description
This is a rare and thick end cut of a large variscite nodule from old finds of the 1920s-30s, as visible by the associations! A thick layer of variscite hosts crandallite and wardite, and perhaps other phosphates. Rock had a group of these, and all seem to have dated to one collection he purchased, long ago. In addition to the color pattern that screams antiquity, it has a label claiming this was collected by the legendary Ed Over (and he was indeed known for these). A STRIKING NODULE OF VARISCITE, 3 POUND OR 1233 GRAMS IN SIZE! Valued $4500-plus.
