Item Description

This specimen came from a one time find (2003) at Siglo XX which ony produced less than two dozen specimens of this material. It's actually amazing that these specimens have not been found in the past considering the age and vast quantity of specimens that this locality has produced. The piece is composed of a beautiful rich blue Vauxite "ball", which is actually covering/replacing sphercial Wavellite. To top it off, the Vauxite "ball" is associated with a few sharp, colorless, gemmy Quartz crystals. This "ball" is one of the largest individual spheres from the find. This piece is not only unique, but comes from the type locality for Vauxite to boot. These specimens are impossible to obtain, and the only reason we have this one to offer is because it came out of an old stash from Brian Kosnar who originally brought these specimens into the country nearly 15 years ago.
