Item Description

Here we have a remarkable, well-crystallized, rich blue, and ridiculously rare specimen consisting of radiating crystal aggregates of Vauxite. It is very difficult to obtain any specimens of this attractive phosphate, let alone one of this quality. This piece is from the type locality for this material, which was discovered along the Contacto and San Jose veins in this mine and was first described by Sam Gordon and Mark Bandy. The color is a dark, cornflower blue, with NO coatings diminishing the color! Overall, this is a superb specimen of the rare phosphate mineral, Vauxite, that is aesthetic and highly desirable. ex Kosnar Collection, and valued $900
