Item Description

Velvet malachite is well-known from this noted Bisbee mine and this is a very fine and showy piece. Isolated primary velvet malachite balls are aesthetically set on the sturdy gossan matrix. The balls have beautiful high luster, and the broken balls reveal the intense chatoyancy and luster of the banded, radiating, acicular malachite. Fine old-time material from the Dan Caudle Collection, a founder of the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show.
