VERY large, classic Ferberite w/ Calcite (Paul Zerfass Coll.)

Striking, sculptural and large 360-degree ferberite and calcite from the famous Panasqueira Mine. Parallel-growth clusters of large, lustrous, striated, jet-black flattened ferberite prisms dramatically rise up from the floor of the piece covered with intergrown, sharp, calcite rhombs. The stepped-growth faces and scattered patches of iridescence (an old patina!) under bright light add real pizzazz to this outstanding large specimen. Complete all-around, the attachment is lower on one side. Scattered bruising and dinged crystals are noted, but minimal - this remains a most impressive large 360-degree combination with every turn presenting a different perspective. Hefty and rich tungsten ore at 9.5 pounds or 4.3 kilos mass. Choice large material from the Paul Zerfass Collection # 452. We have not seen such a large and important sized specimen of this material in a long time. Valued $2000 or more.
