Item Description

Vesuvianite is fairly in gem quality material. There are truly only a few world localities to produce clean enough crystals for cutting. Despite the simple chemistry, one does not see much in the way of Vesuvianite on the market, and typically gems are an unpleasant brown hue. Several years ago, we acquired a small parcel of some of the best color Vesuvianite that we've ever had for sale. The rough from which these gems were cut was mined in the early 2000s, and to the best of our knowledge, is no longer being found. This particular stone has an "Oval Brilliant" cut with VS clarity and great saturated golden color. Depending upon the temperature of the lighting under which the stone is viewed, you might see more of a yellow or green tone, as it does shift slightly. If you're a rare stone collector, don't miss out on this one, as Vesuvianites like this are hard to find on the market.
