Item Description
These are some of the more attractive and unusual Vesuvianite crystals to come out of any "Alpine cleft" locality. This piece features many excellent quality, sharp, lustrous, gemmy/translucent, "root beer" colored prisms of Vesuvianite with strange "straw"-colored "cat's eye" terminations. The largest crystal featurs a 12 mm crystal, which is actually very good sized for the locality. These are some of the most distinctive Vesuvianites I have seen from any locality. It is reminiscent of Tourmaline crystals that I have seen from Brazil with the same "cat's eye" effect at the tips of the crystals. Certainly uncharacteristic and cool for the species!
