Vesuvianite crystals with deep olive-green color, excellent crystal form with sharp edges, striated sides, partially translucent and shiny luster. A nicely formed thumbnail from this classic Maine locale. Profesor John W. Webster of Harvard University operated this quarry for specimens and described vesuvianite from this locality in an article in American Journal of Science in 1848! (MINDAT).
