Item Description

The Jeffrey Mine is one of the most recognized localities in the world for beautiful mineral specimens. This mine is certainly one of the premier Canadian localities and without question in the top 100 localities of all time. One of the signature mineral specimens from this mine are the famous Vesuvianite crystals, regarded as some of the finest crystals ever found of the species. They are distinctly green with a vibrant "granny smith apple" hue. This attractive miniature specimen is a very sharp, highly lustrous, well-formed classic green colored crystal of Vesuvianite free of matrix. The base of the crystal was at one time contacted, but subsequently re-crystallized ("re-healed") and is now doubly-terminated. The termination on the specimen is in great shape along the front / display face, but the piece is contacted on the base / back where it was separated from the pocket wall. These classic specimens, along with all the other well-known minerals from Jeffrey will sadly never be found again as this entire locality is finished, so do not miss out on this chance to get your hands on a fine quality and desirable specimen from this world-class locale. Priced at $850 in the inventory.
