Item Description

Veszelyite is a very rare hydrated copper zinc phosphate mineral, but it is rarely seen in fine crystallized examples outside of a few world localities. In recent years some supremely fine quality specimens started coming out of China. Obviously the most famous specimens of Veszelyite are those from the Black Pine Mine in Montana, but I would say these Chinese examples are just as good in terms of quality and color, though not quite as big as the Philipsburg examples. This attractive thumbnail specimen features a beautiful group of sharp, intense blue colored, monoclinic bladed crystals of Veszelyite measuring up to about 4 mm on matrix. A bit of a sky blue colored mineral, possibly Turquoise(?) or Chrysocolla(?) can be seen on the piece as well, along with a some metallic silvery-grey Galena on the back. Very few of these are available, so if you're a fan of secondary ore minerals, rare species or material from China, be sure to get them while they're available.
