Item Description
Superb pair of large (up to 2.5 cm!) Villiaumite crytals nestled beautifully in a phonolite (a rare volcanic rock) pocket. The Villiaumites are GEMMY and an excellent, uniform orange color. The luster is also excellent. The crystal at the periphery is cleaved at each end, as to be expected - it is amazing that they survived mining at all in such good condition. But the crystal in the core of the pocket shows natural faces, no cleaves, and is REMARKABLE. So, overall it is a truly aesthetic, and important, specimen. Valued $1250-1500
