Vivianite

Item Description

A lustrous, gemmy, strong green colored, crystal of Vivianite with minor attached silicified sandstone from this famous find in the early 2000s. The crystal passes light when backlit, and it's rather gemmy. This mine has produced what are clearly some of the finest quality Vivianite specimens ever seen from Bolivia as they are notably lustrous and sharp, which is honestly hard to find for the species. Keep in mind that over 75% of the specimens from this find have had SERIOUS damage problems. Outside of the areas where it detached from the sandstone, the piece is in good condition. Keep in mind that a lot of Bolivian Vivianites are dull and rounded, and the Tomokoni pieces are about as good as it gets in terms of sharp, defined crystal form and luster.
