Item Description

A 3.4 cm, beautiful, bluish-green, prismatic, vivianite crystal is attractively set on the aesthetic, wing-like, matrix covered with sparkling, iridescent, brassy, pyrite microcrystals on this classic and excellent specimen from the 1980s finds at the famous Morococala Mine of Bolivia. The etching on one face of the vivianite remind me of Wolodarsk heliodors. One end of the vivianite is lightly contacted and the matrix has been repaired, but you really can't tell, unless you look. Ex Joan Massague Collection and according to the accompanying label, was purchased from Bob Sullivan at the North Shore Show, Massachusetts in 1985 for $300. This combination has always been highly desirable, as not many of this quality were found.
