Item Description

Vivianite from this urban locale is very seldom on the market. Tightly intergrown sprays dark purple and dark green vivianite lathes form a very aesthetic rosette or corsage with a flair at the top. Old-time material from the Robert Whitmore Colllection # 405 and obtained in 1971 from the phosphate rich deposits here. These spirals are thought to be fossil-nucleated, and this is probably a vivianite pseudo after a fossil vertebrae.
