Item Description

A striking and colorful 1.8 cm, lustrous pretty blue-green rounded nodule of devitrified volcanic glass, the amorphous (uncrystallized) product of rapidly cooling magma. The nodule is dramatically set in a 2.8 cm vug lined with contrasting green oxides (former gas bubble) in the porous pumis basalt. This RARE example comes from an OBSCURE locality in the famous basaltic Eifel Mountains. The label from the former German dealer of this strange volcanic glass specimen names this as "Exotzamit" and was collected in 2017. Certainly an exotic and very colorful looking example of volcanic glass! valued?! never seen for sale...
