Item Description

Here we have a great old specimen of the rare phosphate Wardite from a world-famous locality. Several fine quality, sharp, well-formed, white crystals of Wardite measuring up to 4 mm across sit atop a matrix of translucent soft pink Rose Quartz. A few golden-brown "blades" of Eosphorite can be seen on the piece as well, which measure up to 6 mm. The association of the Wardite combined with the Eosphorite crystals make this piece a great treasure. This specimen is over 40 years old and is from the ORIGINAL find from the 1970's. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6695). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
