Item Description

A beautiful display piece featuring gemmy "watermelon" Tourmaline crystals intergrown to create a three-dimensional specimen. Accenting white bladed Albite makes for a nice touch. The Tourmalines show a mix of blue and green hues on the outer faces. A few of the Tourmalines are terminated, and while some are contacted, this allows one to see that they have a rich blue-green exterior or "rinds", and glowing pink "cores" creating "watermelon" crystals. The largest Tourmaline measures 2.5 cm. A very attractive, colorful, small cabinet display specimen. From the collection of Rolando Gioia (a contributor to new definitive book on Brazilian minerals: "Minerais e Pedras Preciosas do Brasil").
