Item Description

When it comes to specimens of Wavellite from the United States, few people probably realize that specimens have been found in Florida. This piece is a wonderful example of this rarely seen material from the Central Florida Phosphate Mining District. These Wavellites are distinctive with their beautiful light golden color and good, albeit micro, crystallization. This piece features small radiating spherical groups of light beige/tan colored Wavellite on matrix. The Wavellite "balls" look beautiful up close, and we've done our best to illustrate them in the photos. If you collect phosphates, unusual locality pieces or minerals from FLORIDA, don't miss out on this lovely, seldom seen specimen.
