Item Description

A bizarre, RARE and colorful large quartz from the well-known sandstone deposits at Corinto, classic for the strange inclusions within. Striking orange-brown to yellow-green clays are richly included in the dramatic compound cluster of water-clear, super glassy light smoky/citrine quartz crystals. The impressive large crystal at the top with two sharp terminations is 7.0 cm tall. Most quartz specimens from Corinto resemble famous Arkansas quartz pieces. The overall aspect is unique and unusual - specimens from this small find of the mid-2000s (2005?) are immediately recognizable for this look, in fact. Clay inclusions in quartz are well known from Brazil, but this presents a cluster of stunningly lustrous and gemmy crystals, with more yellow-green inclusions than the typical beige, white, or reddish sorts. A fascinating and rare large Brazilian included smoky quartz specimen. This is a stunnign piece, mesmerizing in person. It comes form the important quartz collection assembled by dealer/collector Ken Roberts. Valued $1000-1500
