A highly unusual rubellite tourmaline from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. The highly lustrous, pretty raspberry-red, pyramidal crystal is heavily etched, which gives it a weird, columnar look. The crystal has a chatoyant character to it and only the outer few millimeters are translucent. The core is deep purple. This is a striking and strange-looking tourmaline with excellent color from this noted locale. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only trivial sidewear. 33 grams.
