Item Description

The Franklin Mining District is, hands down and lights on, the greatest locality known to man for fluorescent minerals. This small cabinet combination piece is classic for the area, with its speckled and uniquely-colored appearance immediately recognizable. The mineralogy includes Willemite (bright green fluorescence), uncommon Alleghanyite, and Franklinite (TYPE LOCALITY). Formerly in the Ewald Gerstmann Franklin Mineral Museum (with label) and the extensive collection of W & A Cook.
