Item Description

The Hongda Mine in China, going back to the mid-late 2000s, has the source of some superb display specimens of wire Silver. There were a decent amount of specimens found, but very few of these pieces are available on the market today, I'm told that nothing has been found for several years, and it's a really a shame as the best pieces hold their own against old classics from Kongsberg, Norway, or Freiberg, Germany. This is an attractive miniature specimen featuring an eye-catching, beautiful, striated, curled wire group of native Silver, free of matrix. Sculptural, aesthetic and fun to view close up. I love the old-time antique patina on the Silver, giving it the same classic appearance as those old-time specimens from Europe.
