Item Description
A rich and showy old-time small cabinet of glassy, translucent, orthorhombic, twinned pseudo-hexagonal dipyramidal witherite crystals, to 8 mm, from the historic Type Locality area - the Alston Moor District. Sections of calcite on one end fluoresce pink. Nearly solid witherite, bruising is certainly acceptable on this rich old piece. Classic old witherite from Alston Moor, rare in the market today! From a 19th Century Zurich Collection we purchased, and it comes with two old labels.
