Item Description

A dramatic and highly unusual large two-sided combination specimen from this famous mine. Classic, splendent, well-striated, terminated, parallel-growth wolframite blades comprise the "front". The strikingly different mounded back of the piece has a rich carpet of rosettes of light straw-yellow muscovite plates nicely accented with sharp, splendent, gray metallic arsenopyrite crystals and a few quartz points. A few small stacked clusters of fluorescent nailhead calcite rhombs are also noted on this side and on the base of the piece. Impressive and uncommon large two-sided combination material from the Kay Robertson Collection # 12427. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record).
