Item Description

A very rare, old-time specimen from Cornwall. Found in St Agnes in the late 1800s, and thought for some time to be a vaild species, Enysite was determined to be a mix, unique to this locale, of greenish-blue Woodwardite with possibly Brochantite and/or Connellite. This piece is a waxy, rich and colorful crust of blue-green "Enysite" free of matrix. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10974) with a label from Cornish mineral dealer, K. P. Hammond. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A beautiful and attractive old-timer from this famous locale.
