Item Description

A very fine wulfenite and mimetite specimen from recent finds at the famous Mina Ojuela. Lustrous, butterscotch-colored, bipyramidal wulfenites and a single imposing, pseudocubic wulfenite are very aesthetically clustered or set as discrete crystals around the vug lined with translucent and lustrous, rich apple-green mimetite botryoids on the undulating, sculptural, robust, gossan matrix. The large, isolated bipyramidal crystal is 1.3 cm and the impressive pseudocubic monolith is 1.1 cm. All of the many wulfies are pristine, except for one smaller crystal on the periphery. This is an exceptional and showy piece from this find. A piece of much higher than normally seen quality, from the noted Mexico Collection of Jason New (who highgraded the lot as it came from the mine which his company controlled at the time).
