Item Description

An uncommon and showy combination specimen from the famous and now-closed Tsumeb Mine. Sharp, euhedral quartz crystals are relatively rare from this historic mine, but this excellent piece is covered with a forest of glassy, translucent, quartz crystals with a pretty, pink, oxide tint. A 9 mm, euhedral galena crystal is jauntily perched on one corner of the specimen and is a very nice contrasting accent. Scattered about on the quartz crystals are tiny, 1-2 mm, light brown wulfenites. The few broken quartz crystals are noted. This remains a very showy, relatively rare combination specimen from this renowned mine. Wulfenite on quartz is rare from Tsumeb. Ex Rob Smith Collection, a noted Tsumeb specialist.
