Item Description

A very eye-catching and fine quality Wulfenite thumbnail from the famous Red Cloud Mine in Arizona. This piece shows the highly desirable and rarely seen "window pane" habit. Based upon the style and color, I think this piece is mined in the late 1960s - early 1970s. It shows a wonderful fiery color with a bit of "phantom" zoning that starts with an orange hue on the oustide which transitions into a red tone in the center and ends with more of a yellow color in the "core" of the crystal. The crystal is very sharp and lustrous, and nearly WATER CLEAR when backlit. For the most part it's damage free, save a small bit od edge wear on one side. If you look closely at the base, you can see it's actually terminated, so it's actually in superb condition overall. You just don't see Wulfenites like this on the market these days, and it truly is some of the most RED color GEM quality Wulfenite in the world. From the worldwide thumbnail / miniature collection of Irv Brown. Valued at $800.
