Item Description

A classic and highly desirable wulfenite and mimetite combination from the famous and best 1970s finds at the San Francisco Mine. Glorious golden-yellow windowpanes to 1.5 cm fill the scuptural curved crust and are dramatically festooned with a myriad of radial sprays of tiny, gemmy, orange mimetite prisms (not botryoids!). Ex Francesco Bedogne Collection # 403 and acquired in 1977. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. This is a very uncommon mimetite style from the finds and this is a most excellent combination example. The interior is essentially pristine.
