Item Description

Bright, rich light orange tabular wulfenite crystals are richly and attractively festooned on the sculptural large matrix on this exceptional specimen from the less well-known extinct underground Pb-Ag-Cu-Mo-Au-Mn-V mine. Most of the prisms, to 9 mm, are translucent, but a few are gorgeous, water-clear windowpanes and all have sharp beveled edges. The ridge separating the two vugs presents a striking visual aspect to this very fine specimen. Scattered calcite crystals are a nice contrast and accessory. This mine was intermittently active from the 1880s until 1940. Choice and RARE wulfenite in this COLOR, quality and size from the Bruce Murphy Arizona Collection. Fairly valued at $1500-1750.
