Item Description

The mines at Mezica (Miess) in the former Yugoslavia have produced some of the most iconic Wulfenites in Europe. This piece features sharp, lustrous, gorgeous orange colored crystals of Wulfenite measuring up to 6 mm with a lovely bi-pyramidal habit (many are doubly-terminated) associated with lovely white Calcite rhombs on host rock matrix. While the crystals are not incredibly large, they are still very good quality and beautiful to view up close. If you collect secondary ore minerals, general Wulfenites or minerals from central Europe, don't miss out on this attractive old time specimen dating back many decades. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10481). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
