Item Description
This unusual pink mineral species is composed of hairlike crystals and these are giants for what it is, a very rare product of oxidation of primary U-Co-Ni-Mo mineralization. This specimen, thought to be for quality the best in the world, was found in a single pocket in the spring of 2017. Only a single flat of these were collected upon discovery (The Mineralogical Record, 2018; 49: 475). From: Malcolm Alter, January 28, 2018.
