Item Description

Xanthoconite is a RARE sulfosalt - silver arsenic sulfide. It is a dimorphm or different crystal form with the same chemistry, of proustite. This sharp, showy, dark cherry-red, gemmy, thumbnail crystal is from a less well-known Zacatecas locale - the Bote Mine. The striking crystal form is a pseudo-orthorhombic twin, VERY RARE. Ex Dick Jones Thumnail Collection, and dates to the 1960s or 70s in his collction and possibly was mined long before. Very rare material. Valued highly
