Xenotime (superb crystal)

I have to say that I truly I mistook this specimen for a Zircon crystal when I first saw it simply due to the fact that it's so large, sharp, and well-formed that I didn't even think it could be a Xenotime. This isn't just a large Xenotime crystal for the locality either, it's large for Xenotime worldwide. Most crystals over 1 cm tend to be terribly distorted, ugly, crazed or dull, but this piece is notably smooth, well-formed and complete all around with a wonderful dark golden-brown color that actually show a tiny bit of gemminess on the edges when backlit. The crystal has wonderful luster and textbook tetragonal form with a steep, pyramidal termination. A fantastic thumbnail sized specimen of this well known material from Brazil. Only a few small imperfections, but it's outweighed by the size and superior quality. Priced in the inventory at $900.
