Yugawaralite (RARE Iceland locality) (ex Shields Flynn Collection)

Yugawaralite is a very rare zeolite species, originally found at the Yugawara Hot Spring, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan. These days, the vast majority of the specimens you'll see on the market are from various trap rock localities in India, but THIS piece is a notably hard to find specimen from Hvalstöd, Iceland! While there are many well-known zeolite species found in Iceland, Yugawaralite is rarely seen. This toenail sized piece hosts many excellent quality, sharp, thin, bladed colorless gem quality crystals measuring up to 3 mm on basalt matrix. A really cool specimen that would make a fine addition to any zeolite suite.
