Item Description

Here we have an incredibly rare specimen of the sodium manganese phyllosilicate, Zakharovite from the world famous Poudrette Quarry at Mont Saint-Hiliare. I believe this is the FIRST specimen of the species that we have had to offer from this locality. It features yellow-orange colored micro crystals which are sitting on lilac colored Ussingite. If you collect rare species, be sure to pick this one up! Keep in mind that Zakharovite is only found in about 9 localities in the world, all of which are in Russia or Canada. It is now difficult to obtain specimens from this locality as collecting has been limited / reduced in recent years, so if you collect minerals from this world famous quarry, don't miss out on this attractive thumbnail. From the collection of renowned mineral dealer, Charlie Key.
